Patrick Ricard Sparks Ravens' Offensive Surge

The Baltimore Ravens have found groove, as powerhouse fullback Patrick Ricard has quickly become the heart of the Ravens' offense. In recent weeks, Ricard's role has expanded remarkably.

Ricard’s increased involvement in the game coincided with a surge in the Ravens' performance. "Pat understands his role," said Harbaugh in a recent interview. "He's doing it at a very high level- the last two weeks especially have ramped up for Pat, and he just creates another dimension that defense has to deal [with]".

Through the first couple of weeks, the Ravens averaged 168 rushing yards per game with Ricard playing 22.4 percent of the team's offensive snaps. However, in their victories over the Cowboys and Bills, Baltimore's performance improved dramatically, averaging 272.5 yards per game, with Ricard participating in a staggering 55.8 percent of the team's offensive snaps.

The Ravens’ return to their strengths – the formidable running duo of quarterback Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry – has certainly been an additional factor in their turnaround, with Ricard's influence. He has been instrumental in creating openings for the 6-foot-3 running back, Henry.

Patrick Ricard's importance to the Ravens' offense is undeniable. If the team continues to capatilize on their running game, it's highly likely that Ricard will be an integral part of their success.
